Fastec Industrial RV Camper Lock
While working at the 4-H fairgrounds, I forgot the camper key where all my tools and supplies were. Decided to make a quick video on how to find the key code to cut one on the Framon 2.

Another Internet Lishi Video

When I have down, I work on skills I suck at, which there are many. Impressioning and decoding using a lishi are among the top I keep working on. In my usual rambling style, I use a lishi to decode two master lock padlocks. I didn't make it clear in the video, but a lot of times, I'll pick the lock, the put the lishi in to decode the lock.

Trying to mix in some older videos from earlier this year between the MX13 4-H vids. This spring, I purchased several of the Xhorse Universal flip key fobs and some blades. I filmed my fist attempt at using one to make a fob for my 2018 Nissan Frontier. This was a very long day for me.

I burn a lot of keys when I'm doing larger projects and cutting them all by code on the Framon 2. I prefer to cut by code rather than duplicating when I can help it, but there's a limit. I've been on the fence about getting the M4 clamp for the Dolphin since you can't cut commercial/residential keys by code...it's strictly a duplicator. Finally took the chance and after a rough start, it looks ...

I have a Condor that has a household key database. It will cut these by code. I was told the Dolphin wouldn’t do anything with a single sided household key so I’m surprised it even worked for you.
Quick raking with that lock, nice job! Did you try cutting the key on the other side of those jaws on the Framon? Sometimes that helps, also using a paper clip to fill the channel can help too. Just some ideas, looks like you got it in the end.
Happy Veterans Day! Thanks for getting this video out, it was a fun watch. As a note it’s always a good idea when you find, or suspect master pins to check the top chambers in the bible. There are likely a couple still in that lock you rekeyed creating unintentional sheer lines. Also lubrication prior to picking is helpful and makes shimming easier too. Just little things to consider. Loved the video. Hope you have a good Veterans Day brother!
Just got to the part about you losing control when you use Houdini, for that I’d definitely recommend trying the technique Chirael recommends because even if it’s lubricated his method will give you control. Also never hurts to use a lishi in combination with shimming makes it a flash. I believe besides that deadbolt being audibly under lubrication and visibly corroded I believe those defiant deadbolts have some obnoxious spool pins that don’t do much against picking but sure make shimming a little tricky.
Great stuff man, thank you for your service, and your humility and sincerity is inspiring. Very cool of you to rehabilitate those locks back into service for folks in need. I have a few shim holders but never end up using them, I get just as good if not better results with my hands. When I back shim I try to hold the shim to maintain the curvature as I push, by holding the sides between my thumb and index finger and then pushing it forward with my middle finger. It seems less likely to bend that way, though it does still happen occasionally. Thanks for sharing this!
Happy Veterans Day (tomorrow)… Today is my (USMC) birthday…
Hi my friend how are you going. Am a key cutter in Ghana
That knob is not classroom function, that is an entrance function. Also why are you putting a knob on a commercial property? That should at least be a lever, but it should most definitely be a panic bar because that is a fire exit. That should be ADA and fire code.
What app? Can you tell me?🙏
The app on the vvdi tool or on the computer? The vvdi tool comes with their own software. You can install the xhorse app on android devices (idk about apple devices), but I have not tried connecting from my android to the obd tool. Updating the software on the device from my pc is done via the "xhorse update kit" software.
Working my way through this series finally. I definitely use a blank to shim unless something is feeling screwed up and I’ll switch to a regular hooked pick. As for stamping the keys I was having a lot of issues with it until I bought a mini anvil. I use the smallest one harbor freight sells (I’m sure any anvil would work) and it works incredibly well super clear impressions every time. Great video looking forward to the rest of the series.
I've got a little stamping square that works pretty well...I just have the bad habit of reversing some letters and numbers.
@@JenkinsLocks ah okay gotcha, yeah that sounds like it would complicate things. You try filing groves in them for a thumb reference spot like Jason from SE Lock and key does?
@@LCLockout yeah, I put it on my list of things to do after I saw that video and it's still on there.
I have found that the pro version has programming via ODB but I have not been able to rely on it and end up using AUTEL KM100 or other programming devices. The Pro also does not have the Remote Simulator (emulator) routine.
Great tutorial +1 for the dyslexia I always have to check my numbers
Real the struggle is lol. In my IT world, I have a lot of muscle (mental and physical) memory to compensate, but that's from decades of doing that field. I'm working on getting the muscle memory in the locksmith world.
This was great, thanks for sharing all this! Loved the “hack the planet” at 10:55 :) It sounds like your VM setup is neat and has some advantages, like you said you don’t need to go back to the shop. You could consider doing a video about that, if you’re inclined, but that’s up to you. Either way thank you for sharing your process & progress 🙏
I debate over doing tech stuff a lot. Technology is just a part of everything in our world, but don't want to over geek the channel. I compensate for the lack of locksmith experience using the technology out there (like using genericode over decoding wafers) when I can. I will definitely start doing more tutorials on the tech side. And remember, if you're going to hack the planet, you better be Elite.
@@JenkinsLocks no problem, I understand completely - you should make the content that you enjoy and get excited about, so if that’s not tech then skip it! I was just saying sometimes those little hacks you think nothing of, could help others. But if you think it’s too inaccessible to someone without a tech background then definitely skip it. And good reminder about being 1337, I’ll go work on that right now! 😁
Man, that just took me back to running a BBS on my 286 and days of the shareware kiosk at the local mall. I do get excited about technology and tend to go geek very easily. I've been on the fence on doing some tech video because I didn't know if anyone would be interested. The thing about tech is that it's not hard...when you know all the pieces. If I can help one person with some geek videos...then that's a big reason for this channel.

Back in 2020, that would be correct, but we all start at not really knowing anything about anything. Some of us keep at the thing we want to learn...some just troll the internet. Thanks for watching.
Quit playing with your new toys and get them fairgrounds locks changed… LOL
lol, I'd love to and have everything pinned up and ready to go...coordinating is the main obstacle right now with the fair just a few weeks away.
You cut the keys first before programing it? Is that your preference?
It's not a preference with keyed ignitions since you have to put the new key in and turn the ignition to the on position as part of the programming. If it's a fob, just depends on the day if I cut the emergency key first or not.
Circle+/PK3 GM systems have always been my personal favorite for their onboard programming 👍
you are the man!
i always do onboard if its available vs hooking up a scan tool to program the keys. Saves time and is just as effective
What i do too to save time, is once you decode a key, i always check find bitting or look on insta code or lockcodes to make sure its a valid code cuz sometimes the key is worn and may get a bad decode
Don, for some reason, the audio is only playing out of one side - to be specific- the right side on headphones
Strange, original video on my pc is playing both both channels. I noticed it's been taking longer after I upload for youtube to do its converting so I wonder if something is conflicting there.
I can't see
UHS=always shifty! always "in stock" until you order!
They are hit or miss some times. I bought an adapter for my vvdi max that said "in stock" and took another month to arrive. So far, I haven't ran into it on anything I had a urgent need.
I found not syncing with my GoPro is fine and I just record and take the sd card out and plug it into my Mac mini for review otherwise I just run my GoPro batteries down quicker. Been using CapCut which I’m finding is better than iMovie. Finally figured out that the microphone on my GoPro doesn’t work in Quik capture mode. I have to have the GoPro already on them hit record. Must be a” bug” in my GoPro firmware
I found on gopro's support site that gopros can overheat and audio can be affected by the heat of the camera. Gopros can overheat quicker if stationary. I guess that means they are air cool while filming action. I'll keep using it until I find something different to use.
Updating the Dolphin is a PIA under the best of circumstances…
I've been able to update it a few more times using this same method. Slower, but easier on the back than bringing it home.
Great video! I think the repetitiveness of locksmith videos lets you pick up on small details of common tasks each of us does differently that can be improved on. Like somehow I never considered preloading my pinning mat for multiple lock rekeys like you do. Seems silly but you’ve cut my rekey time down by probably 1/3 with that trick. One helpful tip with the framon is make your own space and depth chart that is larger and easier to read for you and post it up in front of the framon so you just have to look up at it rather than side to side. I’ve got my most used keyways on a piece of paper set up easy for me to read and it helps so much so you’re not wearing those pages out and having to pull out the book every time.
I honestly don't remember when I started using those squares to prefill pins when just keying up a bunch of locks to the same key, but glad it helps. Definitely a good tip for the most used charts on the framon.
Incase of Emergency- Put that spare "None Chipped" key somewhere under the truck inside of a closed water proof magnetic holder. Then clone a cheap $2 key Nissan style and clone it, then hide that key inside of your truck incase you lose your key one day. I am glad I ran into your video, I've already used a Cheap Key Fob and programmed it. I put that internal Key Fob into a new upgraded Flip key 3 button Key & Remote Combo. Now all i have left to do is to program the Super Chip put that inside the new Flip key Fob combo and I will have an all in one flip Key and Remote. Nice little upgrade for my older 2006 nissan frontier. Thanks for sharing.
I've was mainly testing out how to use this and the super chip. I've moved to an xhorse flip key. The video for that will be posted soon.
@@JenkinsLocks That will be awesome. Would love to see that Xhorse flip key you chose. Can't wait to view it 😁
Idk why that depth adjust between cuts in the Framon 2 is a pia to me. I’m thinking when I get a 3D printer I’m gonna make a spacing block that’ll snap on for the depth portion so I don’t have to keep an eye on the graduations. That’s the only reason I prefer the 1200 over my Framon. It’s no big deal with a key here and there but if you’re doing a bunch I think it would be easier with a spacing gauge like the space block works. Of course I’d have to do several to fit the d/s’s unique to kw1 an sc1 etc. But I can’t believe someone hasn’t come up with something easier already. Great video. Thanks for sharing!
I've thought about 3D printing something like that, but I suck at cad programs. Anything that'd make reading unnecessary would be a win.

Thanks for sharing this. I have to go back and catch up on some of your videos I watched part of, then got interrupted and never finished or commented on 😂
Start, get interrupted, never finish is how i film the videos so it works out...lol
Congratulations on the win. I’ve won shirts from them twice the second time I don’t even remember using the hashtag. Do you know why the 4H bought new big box store knobs on those doors instead of going through you? You definitely could have gotten them better deals on all that stuff through suppliers. And made sure they got the right ones.
Its mostly habit. They can go tonthe local hardware store and charge whatever they need to the 4-H account (or at least used to be able...thats been cracked down on).
@@JenkinsLocks gotcha, well looking forward to the install videos. I definitely would like to see some videos from the when the fair is going on and stuff after you get all that done, even just a short or two it would be nice to see what that place looks like alive.
Not sure how they do key control, but my guess is they will all think they need the top level master key.
So, the understanding of what a master key system was not there. Most members had 2 SC1 keys (even former members kept them), the "master" and the "other" key...both keys opened everything except the padlocks (AM3 keyway). Best I've been able to see taking multiple cores apart, every lock was keyed for only a single change key. I have not been able to find anyone that actually ever had the change key, but the current key system was put in 15-20 years ago. So basically, everyone was issued either the grand master or sub master key (or both) and everyone could get into anything with either key. Part of the issue on working to define and explain a new, functional system was that they wanted to restrict some people to some things during some part of the year. They also wanted multiple master key systems based on individuals and for those master keys systems to fall under a single grand master key...a grand master key that was given to everyone on the council, but was seasonal on access. Real the struggle is. So let's say the system had the grand master key, 4 sub master keys (A, B, C, and D), with each sub master having 2-6 change keys. Most of the year, they want Joe's single sub master key to work on A, B, and C, but during fair week, for his single sub master key to flip and only work at C and D. Now take this and repeat for 12-20 people with individual "unicorn" keys.
@@JenkinsLocks So they need an electronic system that can set/change schedules (expensive) or a locksmith on call that can rekey locks on short notice. And definitely key control with restricted keys. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is gonna be a pain in the (fill in the blank)…
